Analysis of the Czech Philharmonic in terms of strategic communication

This thesis analyses strategic communication of the Czech Philharmonic. It provides an overview of the orchestra's historical developments with respect to changes of its chief conductors and describes its current internal and external communication strategy. The thesis examines internal communication within the Czech Philharmonic, subsequent integration of certain departments into its organizational structure and the way content is communicated to the public. It offers, therefore, a comprehensive insight into the internal and external communication of an institution of classical music. The methodology includes data collection through semi-structured in-depth interviews with executives of the Czech Philharmonic, as well as a marketing mix 4P. The research contains an analysis of three concert seasons in terms of dramaturgy and an analysis of the communication tools used by the Czech Philharmonic such as social networks, digital media and visual identity. A questionnaire survey examines how the use of communication tools impacts listeners' decisions, their perception of the way the Czech Philharmonic communicates and the impact on concert attendance. Music education in kindergartens with a focus on listening activities

Listening activities in preschool education are, despite their vast potential, assessed more as additional activities. The aim of this thesis is to introduce the profundity of classical music in particular and thus motivate prospectively the teachers to include this genre into their educational activities more often and more elaborately. The theoretical part is focused on specifying the basis of music activities in the kindergarten, then it narro ws the survey of listening activities and defines teaching methods for them, beginning with a preparation and ending with an assessment. The practical part is based on theoretical knowledge and introduces three compact projects that aim at accomplishing th eir overlap into all the five teaching areas of the FEP for PE. It also comprises a partial research that investigates a level of listening activities in contemporary kindergartens.
Analysis of the communication strategy of the Czech Philharmonic in the years 2019-2021

The bachelor's thesis Analysis of the communication strategy of the Czech Philharmonic in the years 2019-2021 deals with art marketing, specifically the marketing of symphony orchestras and classical music concerts. In the theoretical part I deal with the theoretical definition of art marketing from definition through historical development to its specifics in the age of digital technologies. The first part of the thesis also provides an overview of symphony orchestras in the Czech Republic and abroad and discusses the historical development of the oldest Czech orchestra of the Czech Philharmonic and its financing. The practical part of the work consists of a case study focused on the analysis of communication activities of the Czech Philharmonic in 2019-2021. During this time, the institution changed its visual identity, launched the Connect by Music campaign to celebrate its 125th anniversary, and offered streaming concerts to listeners during the pandemic. The change and future direction of marketing communication is further investigated with the help of an in-depth interview with the PR manager of the Czech Philharmonic.
Music and dance in kindrgarten. Design and implementation of author's music-dance project

The goal of this thesis is to theoretically evaluate and practically prove that children in kindergarten are capable to listen to classical music carefully and to express it with motion, if they are properly guided and motivated. This thesis also provides the theme for kindergarten teachers how to work with classical music to teach children to perceive it as a gift and develop love for music in children. The thesis is divided into two main parts. The first part is theoretical and it summarizes the most important findings concerning music and movement. The second part is practical and it consists of a project closely related to the research. Results of the research clarified the fact to what extent parents perceive the importance of music, movement and dance and how they endorse these aspects. The main objective of this thesis was fulfilled by the implementation of the project "It was said once in nature."

Bachelor thesis "Music in preschooler'slife" shows the possible usage of listening to classical music in the preschoolers' lives and its benefits. The theoretical part defines the terms of musical art, it deals with the functions of music and the psychological impact of music on the child and humans in general. It also introduces both the positive and the negative music effects on the child and also mentions the educational importance of music. The practical part of the thesis introduces a project which focuses on listening to classical music and reflects its usage with preschool children. It also touches children's perception and inner understanding of music. Additional research aims to find out about the motivation of parents to the musical education of their children.
